Course Details
Accelerated Multi-Engine Add-On: $6,000.00* USD
*Up to 10 hours of instruction and aircraft is included
Additional hours of MEI/BE95 $470.00/HR
DPE - separate fee of $1,000.00 (as of May 2025) depending on the DPE and location of check-ride. *(Note: DPE fees are subject to change and are outside Neu Aviation’s control). We will assist in scheduling the DPE and there is a DPE at DTN that we recommend and who is readily available.
*The AMEL add-on package shown is designed for pilots holding Private ASEL or Commercial ASEL certificates. Anyone holding any other certificate will need other training which requires additional time and will add cost beyond our add-on bundled rate. Also, for pilots with limited complex experience, additional training hours may be necessary.
Additional Notes: Additional Ground Training, at an additional fee, is available for students who may exceed 10 hours of instruction in our base course fee. A separate deposit is required for students exceeding 10 hours of instruction or if returning from an initial course to complete training - while unusual, some students request additional training or have a minimum number of flight training hours required for their insurance and desire to purchase more flight and/or ground instruction.
Multi-Engine Instructor Add-On
We offer MEI training packages and can offer you a block time option for candidates who want to obtain an ME Add-on Rating and then move to training for your MEI or if you already earned your ME rating, we can create an option for you to complete your MEI rating with required hours.

Multi-Engine Rating Requirements
Private or Commercial Certificate*
ALL log books (printed or digital, totaled)*
IACRA login and current access and password
Valid Medical (originals and BASIC Med all documents)*
Passport or Birth Certificate with a government-issued ID
Instrument Current and Proficient
*Our Multi-Engine Add-on Course is designed for pilots who hold either ASEL Private or Commercial certificates. If you hold any other certificate, we will need to design and discuss a course for you and will include required training in addition to what is shown on our standard AMEL add-on rating course. Also, we must review all logbooks and pilot and medical certificate(s).
If you currently hold a Private Pilot Certificate, you're eligible to pursue an "AMEL" or "Airplane Multi-Engine Land" rating. There are no specific minimum flight hour requirements to add the multi-engine rating to your Private Pilot License. While a comprehensive listing of checkride task requirements can be found in the Private Pilot Practical Test Standards (PTS), here's a broad overview of the tasks involved:
Preflight preparation
Preflight procedures
Airport and seaplane base operations
Takeoffs, landings, and go-arounds
Performance maneuvers
Ground reference maneuvers
Navigation
Slow flight and stalls
Basic instrument maneuvers
Emergency operations
Multiengine operations
Night operations (excluding circumstances specified in §61.110)
Postflight procedures
